Trinity Preschool is turning 100!
Welcome
The Staff and Management Committee of Trinity Preschool welcome you and your family to our community based non-profit preschool.
Our aim is to create a welcoming, safe and engaging environment for all children and families attending our service.
We believe our role is to support each child and their family to work in partnership with our community to ensure the education and wellbeing of all children.
We Value Play
We value play as being the most valuable context in which children learn both cognitively and socially, and we recognize that rich play experiences can lay a strong foundation for the years ahead.
“When children feel safe, secure and supported they grow in confidence to explore and learn.”
(Early Years Learning Framework)
Collaboration With Families
“Children thrive when families and educators work together in partnership to support children's learning.”
(Early Years Learning Framework)
Trinity Preschool acknowledges the role of families as a child’s primary educator during the early years of life. Educators therefore understand that it is collaboration between homes and preschool that prepares a child for the wider world, and supports their growth and learning. Families are invited and encouraged to be involved in their child’s preschool education.
History
Trinity Preschool has a rich history dating back to 1924 when it began as a Girls Grammar School initiated by the Anglican Church. Over the years, it transitioned locations, first to the Bluestone Trinity Preschool Church building in 1927 and then to Kite Street in 1952. During this period, it provided education to both girls and boys from Preschool through to Intermediate Standard. In the early 1970s, recognizing the need for a new building and shifting educational priorities, the focus shifted solely to Preschool education. Consequently, in 1976, Trinity Preschool relocated to its current location on Kooronga Avenue, thanks to the generous donation of land by the Carpenter family. Today, it continues its tradition of providing quality early childhood education to 160 children weekly.
